Online tutor for the Bahraini curriculum

A teacher works with your child alone for the whole lesson, explaining the coursework of the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain from their own school textbook. We follow what they're studying this semester and revise with them before end-of-semester and national exams, at a time you choose, on Bahrain time.

  • A free trial lesson is available with each teacher, in every section and subject
  • Female teachers are available, with a dedicated section for women
  • Lessons last 30, 40, 60, 90 or 120 minutes
  • We teach every stage from kindergarten to secondary

School stages in Bahrain

Public schooling in Bahrain lasts twelve years: nine years of basic education in three cycles, covering the primary and intermediate stages, then three years of secondary. Kindergarten comes before Grade 1. Choose your child's stage to see what we focus on.

Kindergarten

From age 3 until compulsory school age (6), in three levels

We get your child ready for reading, writing and numbers in a fun way that suits their age, so they start Grade 1 already at home with letters and numbers.

  • Recognizing Arabic letters and their sounds
  • Numbers and counting
  • Listening and speaking skills

Primary stage

Grades 1–6: Cycle 1 (Grades 1–3) and Cycle 2 (Grades 4–6)

Everything later builds on these years. We strengthen your child's reading, writing and math, keep up with homework, and close any gap before it grows.

  • Arabic, math, science and English
  • Reading and writing foundations in Cycle 1
  • Social studies and family education from Grade 4

Intermediate stage

Grades 7–9 (1st to 3rd Intermediate), ending with the General Intermediate Certificate exams

Subjects multiply and French comes in, and Grade 9 brings the General Intermediate Certificate exams and the national exams. We build solid understanding in math, science and English early, before your child reaches Grade 9.

  • Math, science and English
  • French, plus information and communication technology
  • Revision before end-of-semester exams

Secondary stage

Grades 10–12 (1st to 3rd Secondary), over six semesters

In secondary, your child's courses change from one semester to the next. We work out this semester's courses with them, common and specialized, and build the lessons around them.

  • Math, physics, chemistry and biology
  • Arabic and English
  • Secondary tracks: Science & Mathematics, Languages & Humanities, Commercial Sciences and Technical & Vocational Education

Subjects in Bahrain's government schools

Subject and course names as they appear in the textbook lists and content plans of the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The list is long, but your child only needs what they're studying this semester, and that's what we work out with you.

National and ministry exams in Bahrain

Students in Bahrain prepare for two kinds of exams: the Ministry's exams at the end of each semester, and the national exams run by the Education & Training Quality Authority (BQA) together with the Ministry. We prepare students for these exams by reviewing the subjects they cover and practicing questions in their format.

Grade 9 national exams

Taken by Grade 9 students in government schools, in Arabic, English, Mathematics and Science.

Grade 12 national exams

They cover Arabic, English and Mathematical Skills; mandatory for government-school students and optional for private-school students.

End-of-semester exams

Central exams set by the Ministry of Education at the end of each semester for all stages, including the General Intermediate Certificate exams in Grade 9.

How lessons work with your child

  1. 1

We start with this semester's courses

Before we make a plan, we ask about your child's grade and courses this semester, and work out with you where they need support.

  2. 2

    Explanations from their own textbook

The teacher explains each lesson with examples from your child's textbook and their school's content plan, then your child works through the exercises while the teacher follows along.

  3. 3

    Revision before exams

Before end-of-semester exams, we go over the units and practice with sample questions so your child gets used to how they look.

  4. 4

    You stay in the loop

We keep parents updated on their child's progress, so before end-of-semester exams you know what your child has mastered and what needs more time.

Questions from parents in Bahrain

Do lessons follow what my children study at school?

Yes. We build lessons on the coursework of the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain for your child's grade, and keep pace with what they're studying this semester. The school year runs in two semesters, and we revise with your child before each end-of-semester exam.

Do you teach secondary courses under the unified academic tracks?

Yes. Secondary subjects are taught as credit-hour courses: common courses for all students, plus specialized, elective and enrichment courses. So we start by asking your child which courses they're taking this semester, common and specialized, and build the lessons around them.

Do you help students prepare for the Grade 9 and Grade 12 national exams?

Yes. These exams are run by the Education & Training Quality Authority (BQA). Grade 9: Taken by Grade 9 students in government schools, in Arabic, English, Mathematics and Science. Grade 12: They cover Arabic, English and Mathematical Skills; mandatory for government-school students and optional for private-school students. We prepare students for these exams by reviewing the subjects they cover and practicing questions in their format.

My child is in Grade 8 at a school running the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Can you explain lessons in English?

Yes. Since September 2026, 8 government schools have run the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) in Grade 8, where students study mathematics and science in English. We teach in the language the student needs, so we explain math and science in English, the way your child learns them at school, and switch to Arabic when they need it.

Are female teachers available for girls?

Female teachers are available, with a dedicated section for women. Ask for a female teacher for your daughter in your first message, and we'll arrange it from the start.
