Online tutor for the International Baccalaureate (IB)
In the programs of the International Baccalaureate (IB), your child is expected to analyze, write and hand work in on time, usually in English. Our one-to-one lessons for students at IB schools in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman keep pace with the school's units and deadlines. Start with a free trial lesson.
A free trial lesson is available with each teacher, in every section and subject
We teach in the language the student needs
Female teachers are available, with a dedicated section for women
Lessons last 30, 40, 60, 90 or 120 minutes
Which program is your child in?
Four programs for students aged 3 to 19: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP) and the Career-related Programme (CP), all from the International Baccalaureate (IB). Schools match these programs to their grades in different ways. Choose your child's program to see what we focus on with them.
Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Ages 3 to 12; learning is organized around six transdisciplinary themes, and the program ends with the PYP exhibition in its final year
PYP learning is organized around themes that cut across subjects, so it can be hard to know exactly what your child covered. We follow what they're learning in class and make their reading, writing and math solid.
Reading and writing in the language of instruction
Mathematics and science
Research and presentation skills, in preparation for the final-year PYP exhibition
Middle Years Programme (MYP)
Ages 11 to 16, in a five-year program; some schools run a shortened two-, three- or four-year version
Subjects broaden, and your child is asked to explain, analyze and write, so memorizing alone won't do. We help them understand what each task is asking for and keep pace with their school's deadlines.
Mathematics and sciences
Language and literature, and language acquisition
Individuals and societies
Planning the community project or personal project, which your child then completes on their own
Diploma Programme (DP)
Ages 16 to 19, in a two-year program taught in the last two years of secondary school
Two busy years: six subjects, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service. We teach your child the subjects they chose, at higher or standard level, and follow what they study each term.
Higher level (HL) and standard level (SL) subjects
Mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology
Economics, business management and psychology
Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and the Extended Essay (EE)
Career-related Programme (CP)
Ages 16 to 19; the program combines at least two Diploma Programme courses, a four-part core and a career-related study chosen by the school. IB examiners mark the DP course exams on a 1 to 7 scale, the IB grades the reflective project A to E, and the school confirms completion of the other three core components
Here your child combines Diploma Programme courses with a career-related study chosen by the school. We support them in their DP courses and with the writing and research for the reflective project.

Middle Years Programme: Eight subject groups, with at least 50 teaching hours per group in each year; in Years 4 and 5 students may take courses from six of the eight groups, within set limits. Diploma Programme: Six subjects: at least one each from studies in language and literature, language acquisition, individuals and societies, sciences and mathematics (two studies in language and literature courses in different languages may replace language acquisition), and a sixth from the arts or an extra sciences, individuals and societies or languages subject. Your child's school may not offer every one of these subjects, languages or levels, so we build lessons around what they actually take there.
IB assessments and qualifications
These assessments are set by the International Baccalaureate (IB), which also awards the qualifications. Here's what's useful to know about them in brief. We explain your child's subjects and revise them together through the year. We also prepare students for IB Diploma Programme assessments.
The IB Diploma
Each subject is graded 1 to 7, and TOK and the EE together add up to 3 points, for a maximum of 45; the diploma needs at least 24 points plus other conditions, including completing CAS.
Two exam sessions: May and November
The DP and CP have two exam sessions a year, in May and November; May-session results come out on 6 July.
The bilingual diploma
A bilingual diploma is awarded for grade 3 or higher in two languages from studies in language and literature, or in one such language plus an individuals and societies or sciences subject taken in a different language.
eAssessment and the IB MYP certificate
The personal project is externally moderated for every Year 5 student; the rest of final-year eAssessment is optional. For the IB MYP certificate a student completes eight eAssessments, each graded 1 to 7, out of 56 points, and needs at least 28 points with a grade of 3 or higher in each, and must also meet the school's service as action requirements.
How lessons work
1
We start from your child's program
Before any plan, we ask about your child's program and their year in it, their subjects and the level of each, and exactly where they're stuck.
2
Examples from your child's own subjects
We explain with examples from your child's own subjects, then they work through the exercises on their own. We teach in the language the student needs, whether that's English or Arabic.
3
In step with school deadlines
We keep pace with the school's units and deadlines so tasks don't pile up on your child, and revise with them before tests.
4
You know where your child stands
We keep parents updated on their child's progress, so you know what they've done and what comes next, even if the program's details are new to you.
Questions about International Baccalaureate lessons
Do you teach the International Baccalaureate (IB)?
Yes. We also teach international curricula, such as the British curriculum and IGCSE, the American curriculum and the International Baccalaureate (IB). We build lessons around your child's program and their year in it, and around their subjects as their school teaches them this year.
Do you teach in English or in Arabic?
We teach in the language the student needs. International curricula are usually taught in English, so we explain in English, in the terms used at your child's school, and clarify in Arabic whatever needs it. If they take some subjects in Arabic, we teach those in Arabic.
Do you teach higher level (HL) subjects?
Before we start, we confirm with your child which subjects they take and at what level, and build the lessons around that. How levels work in the Diploma Programme: Students take three or four subjects at higher level (HL) and the rest at standard level (SL); HL subjects take 240 teaching hours and SL subjects 150, and both levels earn the same points.
Do you help with Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay?
Lessons can include explaining the concepts, organizing ideas and planning the research, and your child writes their own work. Both belong to the Diploma Programme core. Three required components: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), assessed through an exhibition and a 1,600-word essay; the Extended Essay (EE), independent research ending in a 4,000-word paper; and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).
Do you teach Arabic in the Diploma Programme?
Arabic is offered in the DP in four forms: Arabic A: Literature, Arabic A: Language and Literature and Arabic B at SL and HL, and Arabic ab initio at SL only. We confirm with your child which course they take and at what level, and build the lessons around it.
Can lessons fit around my child's school day?
Yes. Lesson times are flexible for each student and set in their country's time zone, so you can pick a time after school or at the weekend that suits your child. Lessons run on whichever available online platform is easiest for the student.
Are female teachers available for girls?
Yes. Female teachers are available, with a dedicated section for women, so your daughter can study with a female teacher. Teachers contact a student outside lessons only through the parent or the academy's number, never through their personal numbers or accounts.
Send us your child's program and year on WhatsApp, and the subject that worries you. We'll suggest a teacher who suits them, and your child takes the trial lesson before you decide.
