Online math foundations built on understanding, not memorization
Multiplication tables, fractions, word problems: if your child struggles with one of them, the cause is usually an earlier skill that never stuck. One-to-one lessons go back to that skill and build it with understanding, so they know why they solve a problem the way they do and keep up with school math with confidence, whatever their country's curriculum.
- A free trial lesson is available with each teacher, in every section and subject
- Lessons are one-to-one: one teacher per student
- Female teachers are available, with a dedicated section for women
- Lessons last 30, 40, 60, 90 or 120 minutes
Who this program is for
The program suits any student who needs a firmer foundation in math. We'll set the starting point with you based on their level, not their grade.
A child starting out with numbers
In kindergarten or the early grades, they learn to count, read numbers and compare them using things they can see and touch, before abstract numbers on paper.
A student who memorizes steps without understanding them
They solve familiar problems, then get stuck when the question looks different. We rebuild their understanding until they know why the solution works.
A student with gaps from earlier grades
They struggle with a new lesson because an earlier skill never stuck, such as multiplication tables, division or fractions. We go back to that skill and reinforce it.
A student who has moved to a new curriculum or school
They've moved to a new school, or from one Gulf country to another, and found lessons that assume skills they never studied. We close that gap before it grows.
What your child learns in lessons
We pick the areas your child needs from this list, and link each concept to what they're studying at school.
Number sense
Understanding numbers and their value, comparing and rounding them, plus place value for ones, tens, hundreds and beyond.
The four operations
Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, understanding what each operation means rather than only memorizing the steps, and mastering multiplication tables.
Fractions and decimals
What a fraction means, how to show and compare fractions, then moving on to decimals in gradual steps.
Word problems
Reading the problem and working out what it asks, choosing the right operation, then checking that the answer makes sense.
Geometry and measurement
Shapes and their properties, plus length, area, time and money, with examples from your child's day: the clock on the wall, or working out their pocket money in their own country's currency.
Patterns and early algebra
Noticing patterns and relationships between numbers, which prepares the ground for simple equations in later grades.
How your child progresses
We don't start from the first page of the textbook, but from the point your child needs.
We find where they stand
In the first lessons, we learn what the student understands and where they get stuck, using short questions and simple examples.
We build understanding
We explain each concept with hands-on examples, drawings and everyday objects, then move on to numbers and symbols.
We practice until it sticks
The student works through graded exercises on their own, from easier to harder, until they feel confident with the skill.
We link it to school and review
We apply what they've learned to their school lessons and homework, and go back to earlier skills whenever they need them.
How lessons work
- 1
One teacher, one student
Lessons are one-to-one: one teacher per student, so your child can ask about anything they didn't understand without feeling shy in front of classmates, and moves at their own pace.
- 2
Online, from home
Lessons are fully online. Lessons run on whichever available online platform is easiest for the student.
- 3
Times that suit your family
Lesson times are flexible for each student and set in their country's time zone. Lessons last 30, 40, 60, 90 or 120 minutes, and we'll suggest a length based on your child's age and attention span.
- 4
Progress updates for parents
We keep parents updated on their child's progress, so you know which skills are secure and what comes next.
Questions about math foundations
What ages is the program for?
The program suits children from kindergarten to the end of primary school, and older students who need to fill gaps in the basics can join too. We set the starting point based on your child's level, not their grade.
My child knows their multiplication tables by heart but struggles with word problems. Is the program right for them?
Yes. In that case we work on what the operation itself means, then practice reading the problem and choosing the right operation for it.
Do you follow my child's school curriculum?
We build the core concepts that school math rests on, then apply them to your child's lessons and homework in their current curriculum. Lessons are open to students in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman, so tell us your child's country and grade and we'll link the lessons to their own textbook and classwork.
My child studies math in English at school. What language are lessons taught in?
We teach in the language the student needs, so lessons can be in Arabic or in English, or in Arabic with the terms your child sees in their textbook.
How long is a lesson?
Lessons last 30, 40, 60, 90 or 120 minutes. We'll suggest the right length based on your child's age and attention span.
Is there a trial lesson?
A free trial lesson is available with each teacher, in every section and subject. The trial lesson lasts 30 minutes.
Start with a solid foundation in math
Tell us your country, your child's grade and where they get stuck in math. In the trial lesson they answer a few short questions with the teacher, so together we can see where to start.
